Nairobi, June 2024 – The Soils4Africa Project held its 2024 Annual Project Meeting in Nairobi from June 17 to June 21, bringing together project members from across the continent to review progress and plan for the final phase of the project. Hosted by the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO), the meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the substantial progress made over the past year and set the course for activities in the last year of the project.
Key topics on the agenda included a review of the progress on soil sample collection, shipment, and analysis, as well as updates on the development of the continental Soil Information System (SIS) and the project’s long-term sustainability strategy.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to completing the project’s objectives, as well as a sense of excitement for the potential impact of the Soils4Africa project on the future of agriculture across the continent.
